12 Days Day 12: EPIPHANY - TWELTH NIGHT

Here we are at Day 12 of 12 Days. The 12th Day of Christmas was celebrated January 6th it was the end of the winter celebrations. This day traditionally ended with a last big celebration and take down of decorations. It was very important that all greenery be removed and often burned at the completion of the festivities.

In John's book he has a wonderful piece about Giving called: Listening To Your Needs.
I love this passage because it's so easy to get caught up in the stress of the season and have gift giving become a burden . John suggests "Make a list of real wants and needs within you" He also reminds us to "make a present to yourself on one of the items on your list"

Wonderful sentiments!

Today I have Two wonderful Blogger Interviews, First up Candace of
I found her through Reading Angel's blog. I like how they coordinate their events with Pure Imagination Blog. Here is some more info on Candace :)

Do you like to read Holiday Themed books? If so are there any you re-read every year?

I'm not big on them if they are holiday themed adult books unless the holiday stuff is a minor aspect. I do read several children's books every year though. We have a couple of different The Night Before Christmas books. And then a couple of others. I keep them packed with the Christmas stuff and haven't taken them down yet so I can't remember the titles...

What are some of your favorite Holiday Traditions?

Shopping! That's one of my favorite things, though since I've had kids I'm realizing it's increasingly difficult to wade through all the shoppers. Hopefully I'll get in a few good trips without the kids though. Otherwise it's online shopping for me, which I also love! Other traditions are going to the grandparents house for Christmas dinner and presents, driving around looking at the lights (this is my daughter's favorite!) and hopefully we can make up some new traditions each year. I would love to go see the zoo lights and I think that would be something we could really enjoy as a family.

I know you love books:) What other type of presents do you like to get?

Something other then books.... hmmm... my husband recently asked this question and it took me forever to answer! But picture frames because we have never ending pictures, of course. Bookshelves, because I always need MORE! Pajamas and slippers because I never buy them for myself but I love them! I'm sure there are a few other things too...

What book or books are on your holiday wish list this year?

Anna and the French Kiss, Dash and Lily's Book of Dares, Prophecy of the Sister's Trilogy, Death's Excellent Vacation, Naamah's Curse by Jacqueline Carey and An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon. Just to name a few. Some have been on my WL for ages and others are new releases.

Thanks for having me!
