12 DAYS DAY 8: SNOW DAY w/GIVEAWAY

Welcome to Day 8 of 12 Days! The 8th Day of Christmas is traditionally celebrated on January 2nd and is called Snow Day. This is a day for reflection and to show gratitude and appreciation for the millions of these tiny wonders!

Today I have an interview with Amy of MY FRIEND AMY

Amy's blog is a wonderful combination of book reviews and popular culture posts about TV shows and many of her other passions. Amy has really helped me to stretch my reading boundaries as well. I tend to cover all types of fiction but i had never really branched out to Inspirational of Faith based fiction. Amy's reviews really showed me that the Inspiration fiction field is more diverse and entertaining than I ever knew. One of my favorite reads this year has been Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove. I might never have read this book if it wasn't for Amy and a group of other bloggers hosting a read along, now to learn more about Amy:

Do you like to read Holiday Themed books? If so are there any you like to re-read every year? Yes, I do very much! Nothing gets me in the spirit of Christmas like reading loads of books that host touching stories of transformation. :) I don't have any I really reread every year, except for maybe The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?Hmmm...good question. As I've gotten older and very single, I have few traditions, as my life changes every season. But what I do love about the season is the music, the giving, and the chance to reflect on my life. I love finding candles and warmth and all the scents and the chance to spend time with loved ones.

I know you love books:)but what other types of presents do you like to receive ?I really love surprise thoughtful gifts that make me feel as if someone has been paying attention to who I am. I'm a bit vain like that! I also love gift cards, homemade candies and gifts, DVDs, etc.

What book or books would you really like to get this year?
This is the toughest question of all because there are quite a few books I'd love to have, but none that I've strictly deprived myself from. Perhaps Mark Helprin's The Kingdom Far and Clear: The Swan Lake Trilogy which has been collected into one book.

I have a special GIFT For Amy today

A snowman Tin filled with:

A winter white prize pack! Magnetic bookmark, Angel wings ornament, vanilla votive candle, winter journal and candy cane pen.

Today is also the day for my last INTERNATIONAL BOOK GIVEAWAY:

My favourite winter tradition is probably driving around and looking at all the Christmas decorations and lights. There are two main houses here that really go all out and they allow the public to come in and walk around to look at all the decorations in their yard.

One of my favorite winter traditions is building a snowman with my son. But it is more than that. We plan out and make it very detailed. Last year, we had snowmen sitting around a campfire, roasting snowballs. It is alot of fun.

Ahhh...I absolutely adore Amy! She's fantastic! I love hearing more about her holiday traditions and the types of gifts she likes. So fun!

As for traditions...this one would definitely be going out close to Christmas and looking at all the lights with the family. After we all grab a hot chocolate and talk about our favorite spots along the drive. So fun!

My favorite Christmas tradition is the party my family has a week before Christmas for our extended family. I only see them a couple times a year.

My favorite tradition is decorating the Christmas tree with my family. A lot of the ornaments bring back childhood memories and it is fun to reminisce.

My favorite tradition is my family's "2 days of Christmas fun", basically we stay at each other's homes during Christmas' Eve and Christmas, we all cook and give each other really crazy presents, I also have tons of little cousins and when they're together...well let's just say those two days are insane but so fun! =D
Thanks for making this contest international! angel13js@gmail.com

Don't really have one. I guess, putting up the Christmas tree decorations, like a week away from Christmas.

My favorite winter traditions is driving around town looking at people's light displays. I think because we don't usually get much snow, people go completely overboard on lights. When I first moved here I thought it was a waste of electricity, now it has grown on me!

I love Christmas so I have quite a bunch favourite winter traditions:

on December 6, which is St. Nicholas day, we meet with my high school best friends and spend ome hours gossiping and drinking some festive latte, hot chocolat and stuff and exchange small gifts :-)

Then when Cristmas is approaching, my 2 little sisters and I, we are in charge of cookie baking, so each one of us bakes at least 2-3 types and that way we have enough cookies and cakes to eat for breakfast durink the entire holiday :-)

And another favourite family tradition: usuallyon the 23rd, we all go to watch a Christmassy movie at the cinema :-)

Thank you for these 12 Days f Christmas, I really enjoyed reading about traditions and their origins! :-)

My favorite tradition is definitely decorating the Christmas tree. It doesn't seem like Christmas until the tree is up and decorated.
