Review: I see the Rhythm of Gospel by Michele Wood & Toyomo Igus

This is my last review in the spotlight on children's books! Hope you enjoyed them and pick up some of these great books.

This is a wonderful illustrated journal and history of gospel music and African American Heritage. Toyomi Igus has done tremendous research as she traces the beginnings of gospel music and many spiritual traditions. I wouldn't call this a Children's book but instead an examination of a Gospel tree from which several types of music have taken root and blossomed from. Michele Wood is an amazing artist. She captures intense emotions through her colorful painting palate. I enjoyed this book on many levels and the enclosed music CD gives it an extra element to be experienced.
