REVIEW: DUST & DECAY by Jonathan Maberry

In this sequel to Rot & Ruin we find Benny, Nix, The Lost Girl and Chong on their way to the ruin lead by Benny's brother Tom. For Chong its meant to be an overnight outing , a way to tell his best friend goodbye. From the moment the group enter the Ruin everything goes wrong. A very bad day surrounded by very bad people. Maberry really has a firm grasp of the Ruin. We are introduced to a cast of new characters as Tom finds the shadow of gameland has not disappeared. I especially enjoyed his characterization of Nix and  the Lost Girl. The trauma's they have endured can not quickly be forgotten and through very revealing journal entries from Nix we get a poignant picture of a young woman struggling to live with her past and hope for a future.

This narrative grabs you from the start and doesn't let go! It's an emotional  rollercoaster! I was fearful for every character wondering how they could survive. Not all of them do. Again Maberry gives Zombie fans great thrills and chills balanced with characters you can relate to and be fearful for. An amazing read! Highly recommend it!

I have this for review, so I kind of skipped to the last paragraph to see what I was in for! Sounds like I'll have fun!
