Review: A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin

Wow! That’s really all I got just #%&^%$#@ Wow!!  I read a Game of Thrones after Season One of the popular show finished airing  For Season 2 I wanted to read the book along with watching the show. Clash dives deeply into the repercussions of the events in  Game of Thrones. Heavy and psychotic is the head that wears the crown. If that wasn't enough there are four major threats heading towards Kings' Landing:  The two Baratheon brothers each certain of their claim, Robb the King of the North who wants his sisters and vengeance against the Lannisters. And further away the Mother of Dragons trying to raise an army to claim what is theirs.

Their are many surprising twist and turns and continued heartache for the Stark family and my favorite : Lord Snow. Martin is in top form . His narrative style is engrossing and we also get plenty of intense action scenes. What is a true testament to the power of this series is how seamlessly Tyrion has moved into the main character role. After seeing poor Ned Stark fail at the political machinations of the court it is a joy to watch Tyrion thrive in this nest of vipers.

Another fine addition to this series and many days spent wondering how this wonderful series will progress
