I’ve heard a lot of buzz about The Infinity Ring, so I was super excited to get this ARC. The author line up is amazing: James Dashner, Carrie Ryan, Lisa McMann and others. This first book sets the stage. We meet Dak and Sera two friends living in a futuristic world very similar to ours. The beginning of this book was a little rocky for me. We learn about Dak’s love of History and Sera’s Science acumen as well as the world around them, but the characters felt wooden and the dialogue a little stagnant.

It isn't until Dak’s parents disappear that the narrative really became exciting to me. Dak finds his parent have been working on a device called The Infinity Ring that allows one to travel back in time. Now the two are on a quest to correct the historical missteps that have made their world the way it is. However the Time Wardens are always there to try and keep the status quo. Lucky for Dak and Sera there are also Hystorian’s always on the lookout for opportunities to help those trying to correct the past.

Dashner is always proficient at characterization, the clunky bits quickly faded and left me wanting book two ASAP.

Each book will also have Hystorian maps and there is an interactive website HERE. Very promising start to the series.

This sounds interesting! I haven't read anything by Dashner yet so it's probably time that I give him a try!
