They had me at Undead :) When I saw this gorgeous cover and the blurb on Netgalley I knew this book must be mine! Though a Brit, the protagonist of this tale, Bobbi doesn't really fit in with her new classmates. Blame it on her time in the USA or her not so bubbly personality. Either way Bobbi is in hell. She has survived the torture of her schools ski trip to Scotland and now is counting the hours until she can go home. First however the bus must take a stop at a diner to feed a bus load of hungry teens. Bobby stays behind and finds her self in the company of bad boy Smitty. As the two begin to warm up to each other they make a startling discovery, something has happened to all of their classmates, except for the snotty Alice. They have changed. They are shambling, they are determined, they are undead and they are hungry!

It took me a while to warm up to the characters in this book. Alice especially seemed the typical stuck up popular girl but they all go through some growth during the book. As the trio escape in the bus they come across a few other survivors and make their way to a fortified castle. Things are strange at the castle. Some mysterious scientists aren't happy to see them. There are secrets in the locked tower as well as Bobbi’s personal life as she finds out a stunning connection between this fortress and her own family.

The Zombie action starts out just ok, but the tension builds as the kids learn more about the outbreak. A bit of a cliffhanger at the end that promises for more undead goodness to come :)
