PUBLISHER:
I had a wonderful opportunity to chat with the creators of this title : Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman at Wondercon this year. They are a wonderful team. This series is set in The Legacy Era, 138 years after Star Wars episode IV.
Governments are in a fragile state in the galaxy yet order is trying to be obtained, most notably by the Jedi Council, Imperial Court and Galactic Alliance. The story begins with Imperial Knight Yalta Val on a good will mission to the outer rims. A Sith attack causes Val to loose his light saber and his freedom as a Sith impostor takes over his identity. And Val's Saber lands in the hands of Ania Solo, and a grand adventure begins!
Issue one of this series is just perfect! It's extremely new reader friendly. Their is tremendous Expanded Universe stories and new readers can often be intimidated and not know where to start. This Legacy series is a great place to start. Ania is a wonderful character. She exhibits many of the characteristics of a beloved scoundrel we all know :) For Ania the lightsaber isn't seen as a tie to her past but an opportunity for a big score and a way out of the Outer Rim.

In this second issue Ania's possession of a lightsaber is discovered and the Imperial Knights are on the hunt for her. The impostor Master Val confronts Ania and she escapes with her life but loses the sabre. Now with the help of the droid AG-37 Ania is trying to get off planet. Such a great issue! I need to geek out a bit over Harman's art and Rachelle Rosenberg's colors.

Ania is beautifully rendered. Headman's characters have wonderful form and movement and Ania is always rendered beautifully. I also loved the look of the various planets and ships illustrated in this issue. A wonderful second issue can't wait for issue 3.
