My Geeky Week: Review: Action Lab Molly Danger & Princeless FCBD

PUBLISHER:
ACTION LAB COMICS

This Saturday while checking out the offerings for Free Comic Book Day  don't miss out on a sneak peek of the upcoming Molly Danger graphic novel and a fun Princeless story from Action Lab Comics.

Molly Danger is a recently funded kickstarter graphic novel written and illustrated by Jamal Igle,  that will be published by Action lab later this year. I'm a backer on the Molly project  so I was really excited to see a sneak peek of the completed story.

I wasn't disappointed! Jamal's art is gorgeous. In the opening pages we see the town of Coopersville, New York in the midst of a super villain attack, As the damage and danger escalate Molly enters the scene to save the day. Molly is a character that will appeal to readers of all ages. We learn little of her history in this teaser but her character shines through her behavior and mannerisims. She captures the reader's heart very easily

The Princeless story "Girls who fight boys", works as an introduction to the world of Princeless as well as giving readers familiar with the character a sneak peek of what's coming in the next mini-series.

On route to rescue her sisters Princess Adrienne and her friend Bedelia meet Princess Raven, who has been locked in her tower for ninety days. Dressed in her new armor Adrienne gets permission from a boastful Knight to rescue Raven. Removing her helm however broadcasts her gender to the Knight and a  battle ensues.

There is plenty of fun dialogue and swordplay action to make this an enjoyable story  for boys and girls alike. Jeremy Whitley continues to write scripts that entertain along with tackling some persistent stereotyps  about a girls place in the world.

Two wonderful stories. So be sure to check this book out, It's free, May 4th at comic shops across the country .
