Stories about angels exist in every major culture. They are considered messengers, protectors, healers and warriors. What makes The Arc’s so intriguing is how much of a dramatic narrative can be spun from these characters of myth and faith.

In Arc’s all the familiar angels are represented: Michael, Azrael, Raphael, Uriel and more. The angels have been working a long while without the guidance of their Father. The Guardian and Warrior class are starting to realize they are in a losing battle as demons continue to push the attack causing tremendous loss of human and Angelic life.

The constant loss of life is causing two angels to conflict. Michael wants to cut their losses and focus on protecting the lands remaining under angelic control and Azrael who thinks no soul should be abandoned. In the midst of of this a herald angel returns promising the return of the Lord as long as Azrael can provide him with a valuable tool.

There is a rich mythology for the creators to draw on and this first volume lays the foundation for that. The black and white art really sets an atmosphere that matches the tone of the story. The demons are very terrifying and the battle scenes intense. There is even a great subplot that has shades of Frankenstein running through it as the healing angel Metatron attempts to shore up the Angels fighting numbers by putting together new fighters  from angel corpses. It looks as bad as it sounds !
I always enjoy fanboy’s graphic novels because they always focus on unique storylines. This is definitely a series to keep an eye on .

This sounds like a neat series. I have been getting more into graphic novels recently. I will have to check it out.
