Review: The Surprise Attack of Jabba The Puppett

Fifth Book in the Origami Yoda Series

It’s a dark time at McQuarrie Middle School. Despite the imminent return of their mentor, and Origami Yoda creator Dwight, the mood in the school is somber. Due to the schools low performance in their standardized testing, they have lost all of their electives and are trapped by the mind numbing power of Fun Time.

Fun Time is a boring set of animated videos that teach children basic math and reading comprehension. Dwight’s return brings some much needed solace to Tommy, Sara and the rest of the gangs lives and some surprises. He isn't the same Dwight they remember. There is a clarity to his speech and he tells the gang that Fun Time is a dark presence at McQuarrie and they need to Rebel. Soon Dwight, Tommy and select Rebels from grades 6-8 are involved in a plot to sabotage the schools scores and get their electives back. There are new schemes and best of all new puppets: R2 D2, C-3PO, Mace Windu, Ahsoka, Luke and Foldy-Wan and Padme. The case file gets a lot more stories from new characters  and there is the surprise reveal Jabba!

There were more serious elements to this story and it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it is a solid entry to the Origami Yoda series and showcases the power of friendships and fighting in what you believe in.

I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.

This sounds like an adorable Star Wars book. I have a nephew who would love it.
