2012 Wrap Up & My Top 10 Books of 2012

Happy New Year!

I'm planning to be much more accurate next year in terms of the exact number of books I've read, events I've participated in and such but my final total for, books, graphic novels, novellas and e-books read, but I did complete over 300 books last year !!!
It's been amazing how much my reading has grown since I started blogging. The books that I've picked as my best of the year are a combination of all my favorite genres. Some were released in 2012 and some weren't. Over all though they share one thing : I loved them :) Here we go:

1:Outpost: Razorland Book 2

Pure Awesomeness!

2: Finder

One of the things I love about Bloggers is I've finally found a group of people who "get" what books mean to me. This graphic novel is the most beautifully accurate exploration of the love of reading and what stirs readers to become writers. I can't put into words how lovely it is, if I could I would give hundreds of copies away :)

3: The Hobbit

A classic that I just finished and loved!

4: Death Comes to Pemberley

There have been many sequels to Pride and Prejudice but this one is sooo perfect! I devoured it in a day! I loved everything about it: The mystery, a peek at the possible futures of most beloved characters and a spectacular finale.

5: Bride's Story

A gorgeous manga about a young woman married to a boy several years her junior in a nomadic middle eastern country. Sweet and fascinating.

6: Whisper

The Riley Bloom books are  a wonderful exploration of life lessons through the spiritual afterlife of a young girl. this series routinely brings me to tears in the sweetest most life affirming way.

7: Croak

Not your typical YA heroine! This tale of a female reaper is equal parts funny, gruesome and romantic

 8: The Dark Unwinding

A wonderful Gothic tale with a great leading lady and supporting cast. I'm really looking forward to more from this author. Don't let this book slip by unread!

9: Zom-B
A wonderful twist on the zombie genre with some really important exploration of familial bonds and racism.

 10: Behemoth

Trilogies are  a tricky thing yet Scott managed to make each of the books in the series better than the last. Such an amazing series!
