I knew nothing about this author or that this book was part of a series when I requested it. I just loved the cover and wanted to read something romantic. It was really wonderful to enter a book with no information or expectations. I guess this series would fall under the New Adult category since it centers around twenty something's. The focus of this book is Robin, she is a gifted artist and typical college student until one horrible night. Robin wakes up next to her best friends boyfriend after a night of drinking. Robin is humiliated,  and overwhelmed with guilt. She withdraws into herself, no longer drinking, partying or hanging with her friends. When she visits her friend Rory to try to get out her fall living arrangements she meets Phoenix a recent parolee crashing on the couch.

Phoenix is the cousin of Rory's boyfriend Tyler and exactly what Robin doesn't need. Despite that something in his personality calls to her and  she gives Phoenix her number, knowing in her heart it wont go anywhere, because it cant. For Robin Phoenix is solace and company, someone who doesn't know who she used to be or what she did. He also is a distraction to the constant texts from her one night stand.

Phoenix has a lot more  faith in the world after hanging out with Robin. As she plans summer activities for them he is stunned that this girl is allowing him into her life. What I loved about Phoenix was his ability to accept what Robin could give. He would have been perfectly happy with platonic texts and concerts in the park, he lets Robin lead and it heals them both.

As the summer passes however the two fall in love. As fall comes closer and closer Robins reunion with her best friend is inevitable as is the revelation of secrets. Can Robin & Phoenix escape their pasts and forge a future together?

I couldn't put this book down! I loved the story and the romance was very hot!I'm not a huge fan of contemporary  romance but I’m a fan of Erin after this read. Believe is the third book in the True believers series but it is also a stand alone read. I really enjoy series with interconnected characters so I’m looking forward to reading True & Sweet as well as the upcoming fourth book in the series.
