I’ll confess. I gave up on this series after reading the first issue. I didn’t really connect with it and with all the comics on my pull list I let it go. When I received a free code from comixology for the first volume I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it another try. I'm glad I did! Like the cartoon show this comic has appeal for children and adults. This volume contains the first four issues of the comic and focuses  on the Land of Ooo’s battle with The Lich.
The Lich is a “scary skeleton dude” who has the capacity to capture people, cities, towns and possibly the universe into his magical canvas sack.
One by one the residents of Ooo are captured : Finn, Jake, Marceline, Princess Bubblegum, Lumpy Space Princess etc, are captured in Lich’s bag.
They must all work together to find away out. I really loved the art on this book ! it really captures the feel of the show and the writing is fun with lots of jokes and characters like Marceline interacting with the readers . A solid story arc and a great starting point for fans and those  looking to know more about the show.

My son loves adventure time. I do catch myself watching it sometimes when he leaves the room. I think this one might be something he will enjoy (me too)

Great Review!!!
