Happy Memorial Day! Today is the first day of Armchair BEA! This year I’m also participating as a Cheerleader. That means I’ll be visiting various blogs and leaving comments on posts. Today is about Introducing ourselves and discussing the Genre of Literture.

Introductions

  • Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging? Where in the world are you blogging from?
  • My name is Kai and I’ve been the sole contributor to Fiction State Of Mind for over 4 years.I live in Sunny Los Angeles California. I discovered the world of book blogging when I joined the social media site Twitter. My goal for blogging was to talk about books, introduce readers to genres they might not have tried before like comic books & Graphic Novels, and to connect with other book lovers. In the past few years I’ve morphed my blog to cover more of my personal interests like Comic Books, Conventions, Yoga, Health and Fitness.

  • Describe your blog in just one sentence.
  • A place to read about geeking out and geeking over reading

  • Then, list your social details
  • I’m do the majority of my social media through Twitter at @Yogikai

  • What genre do you read the most?
  • As the title of my blog states, the majority of my reading is Fiction. I love Fantasy, Science Fiction, Young Adult, Children’s books, Horror and Graphic Novels.

I love to read because traveling through a characters story is one of the best forms of travel.

  • What was your favorite book read last year?
  • So hard to pick! I will have to say Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson

  • What’s your favorite book so far this year?
  • Not Sure yet!

Hey, Kai!!!! I'm cheerleading this week too, so rah rah for youuuu! I hope it's a wonderful week and I enjoyed learning more about you outside of Dewey's Readathon. Sunny Los Angeles sounds heavenly. I'm in HOT Texas, which has been hot, stormy Texas the last few days.

Hi Kai! So nice to meet you! I'll have to read around on your blog because graphic novels is one genre I've been wanting to explore more. I read Maus a couple years ago and loved it (both volumes). I'm cheer leading too this year and look forward to reading more of your posts throughout the week.

Hi Kai! It's so great to meet you. This is my first year at ArmchairBEA. I'm having a great time reading all the different blog posts. I'm a historical romance novelist from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Hello! It's nice to meet bloggers from all over the U.S. and the world during Armchair BEA! I keep hearing a lot about Brandon Sanderson and will have to try one of his books soon.

You live in one of my very favorite places. Ever. My sister lived in Thousand Oaks for a few years and I loved visiting her! :)

I also read mostly fiction, YA being the most favorite and fantasy being the next. :)

I liked Sanderson's Alcatraz series, but Steelheart seemed a bit violent for middle school, so I passed on that one. I need to read through the Cybils list of graphic novel nominees from last year and pick out some more for my school library, so i'llhave to browse your blog for suggestions, too!
