12 Days Day 6 : Holiday Romance Are You Naughty Or Nice

Holiday Romances are my special treat during the holiday season. It's the one time of the year I read Contemporary Romance though I love diving into Historical holiday romances the best. I have been slowly getting a stash of reads from Netgalley for the last few weeks but I'm really excited by an offer I received this week.

The wonderful people at St. Martin's Press  Sent me a group of Holiday themed romance to chose from along with Netgalley download links around  the theme of :
     Naughty or Nice

As my list below show I'm feeling Naughty with a side of Nice! I will be reading and reviewing these books and novellas this month:

Holiday Romance:His Housekeeper's Christmas Wish

I received a complimentary download of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

Ah! Regency Romance! The holiday's arrant complete for me unless I read a holiday romance and Harlequin never lets me down. This is my first Louise Allen book but not my last.

This first book in the Lords of Disgrace series, we meet Tess Ellery, a prospective Nun who is leaving a convent in Ghent for a work situation in London. An unexpected collision with Alexander Tempest changes both of there lives.

Despite Tempest's respectful behaviour towards Tess she is considered "ruined" by the nuns in England and she finds her self working for Alex as a housekeeper.

Tess brings a warmth and spirit to Tempest's bachelor home that brings Christmas spirit and other complicated emotions to his heart. The pair have an obvious attraction that complicates their living arrangements. When Tess accompanies Alex home for a holiday celebration with his estranged family they find their hearts even more ensnared as secrets from the past threaten any potential future they may have.

I adored this book!! The characters had a wonderful chemistry together and there was lots of humor and holiday spirit.

I really became entangled in the characters and had that wonderful sting of fear at the thought that these two wouldn't end up together. A perfect read for regency fans, I'm really excited for the next book in this series.

12 Days Gift Suggestion: A Lion In Paris by Beatrice Alemagna

This is a gorgeous oversized childrens book with a unique art style. The art has the look of decopauge and a little bit of scrapbooking. The story is of a Lion that finds his way to Paris. He is very confused by the hustle and bustle of the city and the people.

After many tries the Lion finds a nice spot to sit and watch the city. He loves it so much he decides to stay there. The story was inspired by the real lion statue in Paris.

This was such a sweet little read. I was so happy to discover it at my local library.

Star Wars Memories: 6 The Empire Strikes Back

Learning about movies was very different before the Internet. I first heard about The Empire strikes back through Bantha Tracks. I then scoured every magazine I could for information. I brought the movie magazine and was blown away by all the pictures and new locations.

Then there was that close up of Han and Leia that prepared us for romance in a galaxy far far away.

Empire is often cited as the favorite move of Star Wars fans, myself included. How ever Empire succeeds because of the foundations established in Star Wars.

Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie were our family and we followed them into to an adventure that showed us the true power of the Empire, despite a successful destruction of the Empires greatest weapon.

I didn't think it was possible for my Star Wars love to increase but Empire proved me wrong. This was also the very first time I felt like Star Wars was everywhere. From drinking glasses at fast food restaurants, to bed sheets and dixie cups.

Empire was also the first movie cliffhanger that I had every experienced. There were so many unanswered questions at the end of this movie my brain was left spinning!

Empire still remains my favorite film and
I have probably watched it more than any other.
