12 Days Day 9: A New Take On Santa

Santa Claus has really evolved in popular fiction in the past few years.

This week this amazing comic was released from Boom Comics

This book is called Claus and it's the secret origin of the man who will be Santa Claus. This book is written by comics Superstar Grant Morrison.

Nicholas St. North is a  novel that tells an interesting origin story of Santa with elements of Russian folklore. There was also a wonderful movie called Rise f The Guardians that delves into the origin stories of Santa, Jack Frost, The Tooth Fairy and Sandman.

This year I'll be reading Hogfather for the first time. It's the discworld version of Santa. I've heard great things about it.

Snow is one of my favorite Holiday movies. It's a contemporary look at what the life of Santa might truly be like. It's sweet and romantic.

Hope you check out some of these movies/books

Star Wars Memories 9: Heir To The Empire

Though this novel now carries the Legends  banner, in 1992 this book fed the flame of fandom with thousands of fans.

Zahn was given the job of taking our Star Warriors some place we hadn't been before: The Future.  This novel is set five years after the events of  Return of The Jedi.

Zahn gave us a thrilling adventure in this trilogy and two very important characters to the Legends universe: Mara Jade and Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Zahn is a fantastic world builder. his narrative language is stellar and very action packed. This is one of my favorite Star Wars novels and I still have the first edition hardcover set.
