12 Days Day 11: Creepy Christmas

I always like to read creepy reads during the fall, so it's really fun to find books that combine Christmas and Horror.

Don't let this little dead girl fool you. This is a really sweet series of books about an undead girl who dreams of being a dancer. In this volume she gets to dance a holiday favorite.

I saw an advance screening of Krampus a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it! I'm familiar with the Krampus myth (He is the anti- Santa who can sneak in when hope is lost) but this movie is enjoyable even if you know nothing of the story. I loved that it had lots of dark humor and moments to make you jump.

I'm such a Joe Hill Fangirl! If you have audible I highly suggest this audio drama. It's an adaption of Hill's best selling comic. I was free a few weeks ago on Audible. I also recommend Joe's latest nove NOS4A2 as well. It's the story of a creature that kidnaps childeren and takes them to the horrible Christmas Land.

So add a little shrieks to to your holiday cheer !

12 Days Gift Suggestion : The Christmas Thingy by Wison & Clark

Have a child that's a monster fan? This is a great book to enjoy the holiday season with.

In this book we meet Jessica Atkins who has just moved to a house in England with her family. One night while talking to her nanny Jessica makes a wish for a monster. Nanny is horrified and tells Jessica to be careful because the Christmas Thingy will come and steal all her presents.

The next morning Jessica hears a rattling in her closet and opens it to find the Christmas Thingy. The thingy is not as fierce as Jessica first thought. The two become friends as Christmas draws closer and closer.

But Christmas Thingy's steal. It's what they do. How can thingy continue his mission now that Jessica is his best friend?

This was such a sweet little read. I loved the innocence of the Thingy and Jessica's personality. This book also has a sweet ending that evokes the magical nature of Christmas.
