Manga Summer: Yona of the Dawn volume 1

I purchased this manga at SDCC because I loved the cover. This is a fantasy series about a young princess whose comfortable world is thrown into turmoil when her father is murdered and her crush turns out to be a deceiver.

Yona escapes with her childhood friend and genereal in her fathers army to the local forest. I really liked how quickly Yona grew up in this first volume. She is very pampered and focused on her crush in the early chapters.

With the help of her Genreal Hak she begings to tackle the tough emotions of her past and look toward the future. The art is beautiful, and the story is very interesting.
I'm definetly onbard for volume 2.
