I was so grateful and excited to get approved for this book because I am a fan of the writer's work in other mediums. Life conspired against me however the moment I downloaded it. I had no time to read except for a 30 minute lunch break three days a week. <br /><br />This was really hard but it gave me the experience to see how well thought out the pacing of this story was and also appreciate how easily it was to sync back into the adventure.<br /><br />And this story is a grand adventure. Three women one from a different time, and two living in a world on the edge of destruction are the center of the journey of this story. Each of them are unique for their times and their reaction to a new disease that has raged across an Earth that has barely survived a global pandemic. And all are on the path to the Endless Vessel .<br /><br />There were times in this book where I thought it would be too much for me. So many of us are still raw from the current pandemic. Soule's writing brushes hard against that barely healing wound because it's an experience he has lived through as well. Visiting these themes is essential to the story and to the motivations of Lily and Jane our present day protagonists. <br /><br />Through a shift in narrative we learn the origins of the thing Lily seeks and each trial she faces takes us closer to revelations. <br />I really enjoyed the feeling of being guided in this story. While I was conscious of details for this review, I was also completely absorbed in the story as each phase of it unfolded. <br />There is such joy in reading something that only requires you to come along, knowing all will be revealed , yet feeling the anticipation of how your guide is going to end the trip. Is the ending what you expected? Where your guesses about the characters fate wrong? Did you guess the ending? <br />I can happily state no to all of those questions. I didn't want to speculate, I just wanted to read , and learn and KNOW and the finale satisfied me deeply. So join this journey! Avoid spoilers if possible and be prepared to try to find the companion book Charles Soule wrote for this story and successfully funded on kickstarter.

In this new era of The High Republic, almost two hundred years before the events in Phase I of the initative, exploration and expansion of hyperspace pathways is the key focus of the era.
In Quest for the Hidden City we get an intricate look at how the Pathfinder teams work and their mission. It's fascinating to see how the human and jedi teams work together in this book when by the start of the orginal SW trilogy Jedi are stuff of myth and legend.
The Pathfinder team in this book consists of a Jedi Master Silandra Sho and her Padawan Rooper Nitani a pilot, medic, communications techs and two droids. This is an intersting time for the Jedi where they are met with much distrust and skepticism.
Rooper and her Master are sent to the planet Gloam to not only find out what happened to a missing Pathfinder team but to also respond to a call for help from the residents who are facing a fuel crisis.
We also get a look into the lives of two hyperspace prospectors Spence and his son Dass. This pair gives us another opportunity to see the galaxy through a different perspective as the story moves towards their eventual meeting with Rooper and Sho
Rooper and Sho have a partnership that I really enjoyed. Master Sho deeply believes in being a shield and not an agressor in all things. But she is not an extreme pacifist and she has given Rooper tactical training that is not only defensive, but focused on being alert to all the information the force can send.
I really enjoyed the various personalities of the crew and the respect they have for each other. At it's heart this story is focused on the mystery of the missing pathfinder team but it also gives us a look at the status of the galaxy in these times and the goals of the jedi order. Also Monsters. What's a good mystery without some really good scares?
Rooper especially connected deeply with me in this story. Her connection to the force is quiet unique and her relationship to her Master is more of a partnership than strict padawan/master dynamics. I feel like George has given us a tremendous starting template for them and I'm looking forward to seeing where their stories go in the future.FICTION STATE OF MINDhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07850674317851158329noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4026451365223695644.post-58595968789787214132022-09-30T19:21:00.003-07:002022-09-30T19:21:49.678-07:00Star Wars Reads 2022

October isn't just about Thrills & Chills but it's also Star Wars Reads Month! This initiative is over 10 years old and is a ceebration of Star Wars books. As you can see in the photo above i have a very ambitious TBR for the event and this doesn't even include my audio books and comics.
Keep and eye on this space for reviews and possibly some Star Wars crafts. I'm especially excited for this month's event because I have an advanced copy of the next Del Rey release Convergance from Phase 2 of the High Republic!

On Tuesday October 4th readers will be able to return to the world of the High Republic. The story moves backward in time to 150 years before the events of Phase 1. This story is new reader friendly though it has very strong ties to phase 1.
Here is the special opening crawl that sets up the characters and situations for Phase 2:

Path of Deceit is the first novel in this phase and it centers around Marda Ro an initiate of the Path of The Open an organization that believes the Force should not be used but instead flow free.

Comfort food has been a phrase that has been coming up a lot in my reviews lately. To me the term is about discovering a familiar feeling in a favorite genre. A few pages into Old Dog and I felt that spy thriller, mystery vibe I love so much. The story centers around Jack Lynch a CIA operative that is being shuffled to a low stakes job because of his past mistakes. What was supposed to be an easy detail turns deadly and Jack wakes up eight years later.
The accident has given Jack some new abilities and a chance for redemption working with a group called The Black Circle. Really promising start to the series and filled with panel after panel of fantastic art. The book feels familiar but intriguing as well I can think of several series to compare it to but none of those are by Declan. This book has the stamp of him developing a personal style both artistically and as a writer.FICTION STATE OF MINDhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07850674317851158329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4026451365223695644.post-43244014500746654212022-09-27T12:04:00.006-07:002022-09-27T23:01:18.112-07:00Review 8 Billion Genies Issue 5 by Charles Soule & Ryan Browne

Book Stats:8 issue mini series Image Comics
Creatives : Charles Soule, Ryan Browne, Chris Krank, Kevin Knipstein, Erika Schnatz
Time is a core feature in the storytelling of 8 Billion Genies and I am surprised how quickly we have arrived here at issue 5. This issues main focuses is on the events leading up to the 8th month after G-day,the event when everyone on Earth got one genie and one wish. We have seen a lot of repercussions from giving humans such power over the past few months, and in this issue we see that some man or woman just wanted to see the world burn. And it has.
For those remaining in the safe haven in St. Clair Shores, Michigan it's a time to reflect, wait, worry, and learn a bit more about the genies themselves.
This story also tells us more about the journey of Floyd Faughn who some might call the Idea Man and his community Hope's Hollow.
Young Robbie hopes this might be the safe space he has been trying to find for his family. It is definetly a community that operates around a strong belief in it's charasmatic leader. It's all going to be fine just fine right?!
I spend a lot of time between a lot of pages but 8BG continues to be a book I continually think about and count the the days between issues. It's the essence of what comics story telling can be. Art and Words, Words and Art this story achieves its impact because of both. I'm also a huge fan of the pacing of the story overall and how Charle's script's have just the right amount of information to keep you updated with what has come before in the story and answer the readers questions about how the genies powers work. These important touches really help the reader just enjoy the story as it unfolds.
This issue ends with an Exodus of sorrts and I really excited to see where the story goes next. That Floyd guy though, I'm having a bad feeling about him.

The imprint is aimed at younger readers and its stories are reflections of the challenges and aspirations that many of their target audience face. As a comics fan I have enjoyed the fun stories and diversity of topics and characters in their stories even though I’m older than their target audience. The company has a nice balance of original stories and new takes on IP properties like Miles Morales, a teen who took the mantle of Spider-Man for several popular comic arc.</span></p><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">At their gathering at SDCC the company had creatives available to chat about their upcoming New Season of Graphix releases.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The 5 stories all focus around different milestones in the characters lives. Justin A.Reynolds & Pablo Leon return to tell another tale of this popular character. </span></p><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Superheroes are also explored in the Book Leon The Extraordinary by Jamar Nicholas. Leon is an ordinary kid trying to find his way in a world populated with superheroes and villains. The books The Tryout by Christina Soontornvat & Joanna Cacao and Freestyle by Gale Galligan are female focused stories focused on trying new things and friendship. As we enter a new holiday season I wanted to share some tips on how to keep you health, both emotionally and physically balanced through the first holiday season in awhile where we will potentially be in large gatherings.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Planning</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I always start my holiday planning Thanksgiving week , it's the key to actual succeeding. I discovered a way to do this from a list I found in a wellness magazine. The First step is to make a Wellness Wish list, its a brainstorming page for everything I want to do. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The second Step is to schedule a few or all the activities on my December Schedule, follow up by immediately ordering any supplies or book the appointments with the service professional you want to see.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You can also repeat this process for January so you can start your year off right.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Celebrate Your Accomplishments </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I recently discovered the concept of the Ta-da! List. This is a prompt for the end of the day where you acknowledge the things you accomplished. This list has really helped me because I have been struggling with focus the last few months. Writing down things like making my bed, going to , work, cleaning and even shopping help me realize I actually am accomplishing something day to day.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Supplies</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The supply list for your self-care will vary per person. For me its candles, tea, a special mug, beauty masks and seasonal decorations, and books of course. This year I also hit up all my favorite retail shops early to get cozy pajamas and holiday gifts. I wan't to limit as much time in stores as possible so I also started my holiday cards early. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Aromatherapy is also a great way to keep yourself relaxed. Try a new scent this year along with your favorites. I always recommend Blue Tansy which is a lovely scent that helps enhance communication and personal well being.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I hope you have a relaxing Holiday season , Check out my self-care essentials at <a href="https://twitter.com/yogikai">twitter.com/@yogikai</a> and share yours with me using the tag #HolidaySelfCare </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><br /><center><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4137/4927610507_84d525f63c_o.png" width="25%" /></center>FICTION STATE OF MINDhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07850674317851158329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4026451365223695644.post-59927414398507167682021-11-19T19:43:00.002-08:002021-11-19T19:43:41.689-08:00Ho Ho Ho Readathon !<center><br /></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR_zKU2D95lwGdme1oEbMh6Nh3ohuby_RbfvHACsahkSuVmBVhsj81c13ZOzMshGX0QM-DZ7cf9nMRXcVCkGx42BgJhNGB09jQ5_QLTMKN3yZXWnUtm3VF5rHw_ryizEY_R-_v9B7NhkE/s1024/2021HoHoHoRATTwitter.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="512" data-original-width="1024" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR_zKU2D95lwGdme1oEbMh6Nh3ohuby_RbfvHACsahkSuVmBVhsj81c13ZOzMshGX0QM-DZ7cf9nMRXcVCkGx42BgJhNGB09jQ5_QLTMKN3yZXWnUtm3VF5rHw_ryizEY_R-_v9B7NhkE/s320/2021HoHoHoRATTwitter.png" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">One of my favorite readathons! Many people struggle with audio books but an audio drama is completely different so give it a chance. I got the opportunity to listen to this drama early and it has a terrific voice cast as well as a wonderful immersive feel with music and sound effects. It is possible that the script for this drama will be collected into book format, but no announcement has been made at this time so sign up for an Audible trial or get it from your local library if you aren't sure if you want to purchase it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><b>Timeline Details</b> : The most asked question I see among the virtual book communities is in what order do you read the High Republic. The authors and publishers generally agree on release order but since the books are released in waves versus numbered series there is often some confusion. I have found the High Republic books to be extremely new reader friendly. I waited a bit to long to order a copy of Light of the Jedi and while waiting I read Into the Dark without any confusion. But for those who like specifics Tempest Runner is set during the aftermath of The Nihil's attack on the Republic Fair on Valo. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">If you have finished Scott's <i>The Rising Storm </i>you will be fine to read this book. We first meet Ram in an encounter with Ty Yorrick and this story gives us the start of Ram's journey. I love everything about this story! Though it is aimed towards younger readers there is no watering down of the danger or threats Ram faces as he leaves his comfort zone to help save his city. </center><center style="text-align: justify;"><br /></center><center style="text-align: justify;">Ram's companions for this journey are Lula and Zeen from the High Republic Adventures. Ro has put the Nihil in a holding pattern that not everyone approves of, he also begins a personal journey for an artifact that holds an immense allure for him and a deadly fate for the Jedi.</div><div><br /></div><div>While Ro is on his quest and dealing with uprisings in his leadership the Jedi leads in this book all head to Valo. Chancellor Lina Soh has high hopes for the event. She hopes it will unify diverse species and be a statement about the Republic's intent to grow a unified collection of worlds on the edge of the known galaxy. The fair is set to be a celebration and an invitation to community and protection.</div><div><br /></div><div>Through the eyes of Stellan Gios, Bell Zettifar, and Elzar Mann Cavan Scott sets up a chess board of sorts. The Jedi and a supporting cast are all neatly placed in position and then completely torn apart by the arrival of the Nihil.</div><div><br /></div><div>The balance of internal reflections by various characters and the vicious brutality of the Nihil make this book a devastating , thrilling read. I felt strong Arthurian vibes with the trio of Stellan ( King Arthur, obviously), Elzar (A very emotionally messy Lancelot), And Bell, ( I'm torn between Gawain and Percival). I loved the relationship between these three. It's been a long time sense I've read a book that explores the emotions and motivations between a group of men. They support each other as friends and Jedi.</div><div><br /></div><div>In the midst of things going horribly wrong on Valo we get the appearance of Ty Yorrick (Definitely a reluctant Merlin!) Ty is glorious! She brings some welcome humor and even more welcome representation. I loved her humor and strength and how she wasn't cowered at all by Stellan or Elzar. These four are the pillars we reflect back and forth to as the story unfolds.</div><div><br /></div><div>Bell and his charhound Ember were my heartbeat in this story, not only because he is a POC but his emotional journey. Where he starts and where he ends is a powerful arc that emotionally compromised me in only the way a good story in the hands of a talented author can achieve. </div><div><br /></div><div> It is impossible to be a Star Wars fan and not make comparisons to stories that have come before and on screen and in between the pages of Legends, but there is such a wonderful collaborative energy to the High Republic that envelopes you if you take the opportunity. This book kicks off a second phase that I'm so excited to experience.</div></div></blockquote></center><center style="text-align: justify;"><br /></center>FICTION STATE OF MINDhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07850674317851158329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4026451365223695644.post-9935147435830926552021-07-02T16:50:00.001-07:002021-07-02T16:50:26.643-07:00Loving Val , Revisiting Solo A Star Wars Story<center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC-OqQHi8Z3fU4851jcvku-hB2_ZZAkfLp7MjflAB-XmSUlkD5PzxHv6RLcuxhV_AyrxhME2NTYW1n03MkHOaQ9k3dloccmAenCFsXH8WaRW-HS0iFATAJ0lujk-STfcZJzUCW3B_j6Dw/s1374/81u0Vo9hs9L._SL1374_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1374" data-original-width="977" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC-OqQHi8Z3fU4851jcvku-hB2_ZZAkfLp7MjflAB-XmSUlkD5PzxHv6RLcuxhV_AyrxhME2NTYW1n03MkHOaQ9k3dloccmAenCFsXH8WaRW-HS0iFATAJ0lujk-STfcZJzUCW3B_j6Dw/s320/81u0Vo9hs9L._SL1374_.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgltfuc25g5oMFywNbMOHKfJ8569outAEtz7jGa1hiZY4mhNzk-DhaDEz5RoL7Hr_grgsEr08SQcZW86ccKz8SgacEB5MiZVUV3vrgjx3lkx0fwqHJ8O8Vz9zMKzgcj_xCVDAukcQ3BtTo/s474/Val-Vandor.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="267" data-original-width="474" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgltfuc25g5oMFywNbMOHKfJ8569outAEtz7jGa1hiZY4mhNzk-DhaDEz5RoL7Hr_grgsEr08SQcZW86ccKz8SgacEB5MiZVUV3vrgjx3lkx0fwqHJ8O8Vz9zMKzgcj_xCVDAukcQ3BtTo/s320/Val-Vandor.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinYR1DbhQ9ZlbLPsoaz4jpNF_7sOz4g0FTVWr7wCZdtjFUAucGZOe9LnSfwi4yPfJoer0A-0oI8k8Asr3P-1_kuqEoA5ENcxSN2uoVWty28hVaBN8kPUPBko_S7ijIMO0Sj8tS2qpQamA/s2048/SRWmwRn.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinYR1DbhQ9ZlbLPsoaz4jpNF_7sOz4g0FTVWr7wCZdtjFUAucGZOe9LnSfwi4yPfJoer0A-0oI8k8Asr3P-1_kuqEoA5ENcxSN2uoVWty28hVaBN8kPUPBko_S7ijIMO0Sj8tS2qpQamA/s320/SRWmwRn.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWqcHZpzFhKKmmQyYcmpGqsJehUn89CS87b4ezCrB6UbSJ22f3vheSopIgLRDcl05tziwB0B_xvUgSnfDN9i6_YF5L1q887e5yjIjnqIYRkON7-yqFiwq-RpbruVY1j97Y0TVjS1gm8u0/s640/s-l640.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWqcHZpzFhKKmmQyYcmpGqsJehUn89CS87b4ezCrB6UbSJ22f3vheSopIgLRDcl05tziwB0B_xvUgSnfDN9i6_YF5L1q887e5yjIjnqIYRkON7-yqFiwq-RpbruVY1j97Y0TVjS1gm8u0/s320/s-l640.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div>To talk about Val and Thandiwe Newton I need to first talk about John Boyega. The Force Awakens planted a seed in me that demanded realization. The first snippet of John in his Stormtrooper helmet brought a sea of reactions, but the strongest one reached back to my 10 year old self. The girl that turned paper towel rolls into lightsabers in the summer of '77 The young girl who pasted a Star Wars card at the end of her Astronomy Report ( I got an A).<div><br /></div><div>That young girl never saw herself on screen, but she loved the galaxy anyway. Finn made my mind go back to that place, and had me ask an important question. Where is she? Where is the"Finn" of the galaxy for me?</div><div><br /></div><div>That woman became Thandiwe Newton and Val. There are many opinions you could read about Val. How she was "wasted" How Star Wars once again dropped the ball on representation. There is some validity to these statements. But what I want to do is celebrate a character that lived, and died by her own personal code.</div><div><br /></div><div>From the moment Thandiwe was announced in the role she embraced it much like Val herself. She brought attention to the few POC in the live action galaxy by wearing them on a stunning dress. I remember having conversations with friends when they realized how few there actually were. </div><div><br /></div><div>I also remember many of my friends saying "sorry" when she met her fate but for once I had no sorrow. Her existence is a step forward and her loss though disappointing doesn't diminish her excellence. Val lived and died on her own terms even giving a bad-ass line at the end of her life to the man she chose to love. Her ride and die companion in a rough galaxy.</div><div><br /></div><div>Val is a part of my favorite galaxy. She burned bright and is immortalized in all the accouterments of the saga: Funko, Black Series, Trading Cards and her legacy still shows up in wonderful ways like this recent issue of Star Wars adventures :</div><div><br /></div><div><center><br /></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZXZxfecMu1BXwd1W9s5xVmj6qfQfzdD0g3b4GpgQC-YSOj3h6b5VeBigQdTM_9iocvhUpo51WoQb1yDiNp-AoggciWU9vkeO3ZTkY91BWMKQk6_AedmuZ2pcHgzJYYZqNCRsdP31fruI/s971/e7vx9qb9x9461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="971" data-original-width="640" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZXZxfecMu1BXwd1W9s5xVmj6qfQfzdD0g3b4GpgQC-YSOj3h6b5VeBigQdTM_9iocvhUpo51WoQb1yDiNp-AoggciWU9vkeO3ZTkY91BWMKQk6_AedmuZ2pcHgzJYYZqNCRsdP31fruI/s320/e7vx9qb9x9461.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I will always want more of Val and with stories dipping in and out of the galaxy there may one day be more , but it's enough that she exists and she fabulous!</div><br /><center><br /></center></div>FICTION STATE OF MINDhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07850674317851158329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4026451365223695644.post-76369235782063420572021-05-23T20:56:00.001-07:002021-07-18T19:04:55.220-07:00SW Book Chat 32: War Of The Bounty Hunters: Star Wars #13 by Soule, Rosanas & Rosenberg<center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiEzSz_bdhBmfGtuK9Dbw9CIbLhk1xD9eFNe8pkM5SbZAwsrYaMVkt09vbzTSy6MOC_czBxVT8FRibZq0zoLIc3xJAJ0WPq7aLWrQdwG0vNhp48yhAS8HyuC-IOgOb0SuGVydEI5TSvjI/s497/images.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="101" data-original-width="497" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiEzSz_bdhBmfGtuK9Dbw9CIbLhk1xD9eFNe8pkM5SbZAwsrYaMVkt09vbzTSy6MOC_czBxVT8FRibZq0zoLIc3xJAJ0WPq7aLWrQdwG0vNhp48yhAS8HyuC-IOgOb0SuGVydEI5TSvjI/s320/images.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnB7G0RT1CejHiZm0-mU734igDSJ7rLT_o3Uq8PhoM32Vs5PYUlZ-GegKRUKGjlbi-L3rvGMO6Oqv3AYusVvlddAeRIjyLHtbvfw5zM2IvgNsccUNRE8xAQtPoAfSVia23Abey6m5HrWs/s1800/STL188309.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1800" data-original-width="1171" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnB7G0RT1CejHiZm0-mU734igDSJ7rLT_o3Uq8PhoM32Vs5PYUlZ-GegKRUKGjlbi-L3rvGMO6Oqv3AYusVvlddAeRIjyLHtbvfw5zM2IvgNsccUNRE8xAQtPoAfSVia23Abey6m5HrWs/s320/STL188309.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">The first wave of Preludes are here for War Of The Bounty Hunters. But I can't resist Boba Fett! I also was really drawn in by the passion Charles Soule has for this event. and his Star Wars books are some of my favorite of the new canon. The series kicks off in this Issue Alpha where we see Boba on his way to deliver the frozen Han Solo to Jabba. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">One of the things that the new canon comics has accomplished has been filling in the adventures of our favorite characters between films. The credits needed to repair it bring Boba to sign up in a gladiatorial battle and a cool outfit change.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">After this one issue I am fully onboard for the entire series.
