Review Book Spotlight: Semiosis by Sue Burke

I requested this book from Tor because I was very interested by the idea of a story about first contact between humans and an extraterrestrial life form. I'm looking forward to learning more about the world in this story.  And it's by a debut author.   

Spotlight: LiveWire Ongoing Series by Valiant Comics

I just finished the 4th issue of LiveWire and I'm really impressed with how the story has unfolded. This title builds on experiences that Amanda had in the Harbinger series and the recent Secret Weapons series.

Because of her actions Amanda is now public enemy number one and people are coming for her for payback. Valiant does a great job of making books new reader friendly and this one is no exception. Even if you don't know all the details of her past you can get an emotional connection and satisfying read, I'm always up to support books with Women of Color and this one does not disappoint. 

Today's Star Wars 59: Age of Republic: Grevious

Creators: Houser, Ross, Tartaglia
This issue shows Grievous hunting down two Jedi and an encounter with  an encounter with an entity on a temple. The story doesn't add much to Grievous's mythos but it's enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the art and seeing Grievous at his brutal best.
