Bout of Books Final Update

I wasn't as social as I wanted to be this time around but I did read a lot! I finished 8 books total Time for another Bout Of Books  This is one of my favorite readathons and  I hope to finish at least 7 books. Here is the info on the event:

Review: DCeased Issue 1

Creators: Taylor, Hairsine, Harren, Gaudiano, Beredo

It would be easy to compare this book to the Marvel Zombies series, but DC has dipped into stories about the dead before with Blackest Night, but this series is very different.  It begins with Darkseid invading earth and being confronted by the Justice League. 
The League thinks they have won but Darkseid always has layers to his plans. Cyborg is the target of Darkseid's visit and by tampering with him a virus is unleashed on two world, a virus that  turns hero vs hero.
This story is quick and brutal with fantastic art and strong dramatic tension. I'm so excited to see how this story unfolds.

Today's Star Wars 65: Tie Fighter Issue 1

CREATORS: Houser, Antonio, Prianto, Dowling, Loughridge

There is a lot to unpack in this first issue of the series. We meet Shadow 5 aka Shadow Wing. They are a group of Tie Fighter pilots with high level skills sent on a mission to track down a Star Destroyer that has gone dark.

The team is very diverse, with male and female pilots and even two that are in a relationship. This series is a companion series to the upcoming novel Alphabet Squadron:

There are two stories in this first issue, the second story is a quick interlude that introduces us to Lt. Quell  and Zin Graw, two female pilots that look to be very integral to the main story in the novel. I think the impact of this series will have more depth once the Alphabet Squadron is released, for now it's great to have some visuals for the characters in the novels and watching some cool fight scenes.
