Review: Love Me To Death by Allison Brennan
One of my Reading Resolutions this year was to read outside my normal genres. For that purpose I signed up for a Mystery and Suspense challenge. Shortly After I was offered the chance to review this novel by BALLANTINE BOOKS
This is Allison Brennan's second book with the character Lucy Kincaid. Six years ago Lucy became the obsession of an online predator. She survived and has spent the last 6 years putting the pieces of her life together and volunteering for a victims rights group.
Lucy's job is to act as "Bait" for these predators and ultimately help lead them to capture. Lucy also is going through the process of applying to work for the FBI.
Lucy has amassed an amazing database of predators when these men begin to turn up dead the FBI turns there attentions to Lucy, but not in a way she would like. I really liked Lucy's character. She turned her previous trauma into a mission to protect others and make a difference in the world. It's easy to connect with the character and her shock when former allies begin to question how far she would go to stop a predator.
Being aided by her friend Kate and potential love interest Sean the danger level escalates until Lucy finds her self held captive by her attacker.
This book had all the hallmarks of a great mystery and kept me guessing til the end. I liked the contemporary setting and there was a health balance of romance and action.
Thanks to Ballantine for the opportunity to review this book.
