Review: Forget Nico & Sex
As the Italian Saga continues we find Leda in the 90's and on the edge of sexual discovery. In Forget Nico Leda has to decide if she should stay with Alex, a thoughtful young man or persue her passion for Nico. Leda isn't the only one with a complicated love life. Her friends are breaking up and making up repeatedly, Some are cheating and others are finding love in unexpected ways.
In Sex SOS Leda is exploring love and sexuality. She has made her choice and now the pair are becoming lovers. However things rarely run smooth for Nico and Leda and that leaves the way open for suprising opportunities.
This book ended with a bit of a scare for Leda and forces her to have a more established plan for her life.
Review : Out Of The Nest by Gaia B Amman
In this second volume we find Leda on the cusp of an adventure filled summer. There is travel, camp, and growing feelings for a special boy.
Leda's summer unwinds in a spiral of discovery as she finds new friendships and deals with the side effects of a maturing body.
Leda's inner dialogue continues to be the star of this series Gaia has wonderfully channeled the mind and emotions of a young girl on her road to being a woman. I loved the different locations and the emotions surrounding Leda's first crush. Thee is such a great intimacy between the reader and Leda, as the series proceeds. A nice read!
Review: An Italian Adventure by Gaia B Amman
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ten year old Leda finds her life changed by the entrance of Nico into her life. Leda is a young girl who loves books and has a deep curiosity with the mysteries adulthood will one day reveal to her. Leda sees Nico as a thug. He is part bully part fascination to her and through a series of events they become friends.
As Leda begins to morph into a teen she finds many things about Nico off putting and intriguing.
This story is the opening steps in the journey to adulthood Leda is about to embark on.
I could relate to the time period of this story, and though I've never been to Italy Gaia paints a lovely picture of the time period and the city.
Leda's emotions are very much in alignment with her age and experiences, and her friends add a colorful side story to the book.
