Bloggiesta Mini-Challenge: EVENTS

Hello Everyone!! I'm so excited for my second BLOGGIESTA! When I first started blogging my goals were to meet fellow readers. In those early days I hadn't yet found the courage to request Arc's or even thought about blog followers, I wanted the company of fellow book lovers :) Joining a Blogging event is a great way to meet some virtual friends and attract attention to your site. So your challenge is to sign up for a blog event. I have some suggestions below, or feel free to share with me in the comments any other event you have registered for. I will be checking that the winner of this challenge has in fact signed up for the event they committed too.

No Blog Required Events:

GOODREADS Reading Challenge If you look to the right of this post you will see my Goodreads icon with my challenge goal. A goodreads account is free, its a great way to keep track of what you read and connect with fellow book lovers

THESE CHALLENGES REQUIRE A BLOG:

This is a great challenge to tackle all the wonderful books NETGALLEY offers. Visit RED HOUSE BOOKS

Book Chick City is one of my favorite bloggers, She has great yearly challenges, here are a few you can sign up for and she usually has great prizes :) More info HERE

READ-A-LONGS

Like the title implies Read-a-longs are a group activity where every one reads at the same pace and shares their thoughts about the book along the way. Most Read-a-long hosts don't require you to have a blog but would like you to share your thoughts by posting a comment on their update posts.

TRUE BOOK ADDICT is hosting a read-a-long for Forever Amber. This is a book I wasn't familiar with before signing up and I'm really enjoying the book. Please note : The event started March 18th but there is a catch up week so it's not to late to join in

MOSTLY REVIEWS Is hosting a read-a-long of Masquerade, a YA read. This book looked interesting so I'm joining in ( phew! quite the busy April!) This book is currently 2.99 on the nook!

READATHON

CASTLE MACABRE is hosting a great Readathon! Though themed around Horror you don't have to only read horror doing the event.

Great Events, yes? Now what do you get besides fun interaction with fellow bloggers? How about a book of choice up to $10.00 from :

Please Note this contest is for BLOGGIESTA PARTICIPANTS ONLY. To The Rafflecopter:

I am SO adding the GR reading challenge to my blog! READFREAK! Now just to pick an event! So many read-a-longs! I have a goal of 52 books ('a book a week') but because I moved house I'm already behind! Eep! My GR is here http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/5830857 and my button will be posted on http://ww.Cy-V.nl/Spamantha. Yay!

I love the book depository btw. Spread the love!
I already had the GR reading challenge on my blog. So I decided to take a look at the 100 books challenges and I'm in!

I'm already a bit of a reading challenge addict *yikes* I just signed up for 2 spring reading challenges yesterday => Spring 2012 Reading Challenges. They are the Once Upon a Time challenge (hosted at Stainless Steel Droppings), and Spring Reading Thing hosted at Callapidder Days.

I also don't know when to say no!
I'm doing the Goodreads 2012 challenge, plus the Debut Author Challenge, the Sophomore Reading Challenge, the YA Standalone Challenge and the YA Contemporary Challenge.

I have a page on my blog dedicated to all of them!

I think I have the opposite problem to not being able to find Events. At least about Reading Challenges. I have WAY too many of them! I also wanted to participate in a Readathon but couldn't find one I had time for or wanted to do.
But might sign up for the NetGalley Challenge because I have soo many NetGalley Books to read it is insane!

Just signed up for the goodreads challenge at 100 books. Might increase that but having a newborn baby makes my reading unpredictable :)

Here's my goodreads account - http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4191337

I might sign up for the NetGalley one....

I'm doing the Goodreads challenge already, and Book Chick City is also one of my fave bloggers! I've been wanting to read Forever Amber, so I think I may join the read-a-long. The cover of Masquerade looks interesting, and I might have to check that one out too.

I signed up for the Dewey 24-hr read-a-thon this weekend. It'll be my first time joining. Can't wait!
What a great idea for a mini challenge. I usually do the Dewey Read A Thom and love the connections, kind of like here in Bloggiesta :)

I am going to sign up for Book CHick Citys 100+ books challenge...
Oh, and as for the link I see that it says I need to make a post of my participation so I will add that to my wrap up post I will be doing shortly here.... here sign up is here:

Thanks for this post! Reading challenges are something I've been thinking about for a little while to keep me on track with reading (I just love watching Korean dramas too much!). I signed up the Goodreads 2012 challenge, the widget can be found in the footer of my blog. I also signed up to be part of the perpetual Local Author reading challenge as well as the 2012 YA challenge. http://dianasamazingbookadventures.blogspot.com/p/links.html
Thanks for this post! I love reading challenges ... I already signed up for so many of them this year, but the NetGalley one looked like fun ... and I already read enough books from there, so I thought why not? :)
