Add the crisp, realistic writing of a legal thriller with a dash of paranormal creatures and you get a very enjoyable read and a promising start to a potential series.
Linnet Ellery is the newbie hire of a prominent White Fang law group. A firm run by vampires. Though she breezed through the bar exam on her first try and was third in her class at Yale all her  co-workers see is her familial connections to a very powerful Vampire family. Linnet even begins to doubt her place at the firm as she is placed with a human lawyer named Chip Westin who is working on a case that has been dragging on over 20 years.

After several days of being buried under mountains of paperwork and tension headaches Linnet's world is rocked by a vicious werewolf attack.
Chip is torn apart and Linette is now working the case alone.

As she begins to unravel the intricacies of the case more attacks persist and all trails lead back to Linnet's estate case.

I really got into this read! It's almost a contemporary thriller with smoothly inserted paranormal elements. I liked Linnet's personality she is brave yet also vulnerable.

A very solid read. My only complaint with the book is its cover! It looks very photo shopped and honestly I wouldn't have picked it up if it wasn't a review book. It also annoyed me that the character describes herself as a brunette with short hair yet the cover character is a blond!

Despite those factors I enjoyed the book and would read more from this author .
