The kidnapping of the Lindbergh Baby was another scandalous tale that shook the country. After the baby's disappearance from his crib a media frenzy ensued and the crime continued to baffle police and the Lindbergh Family.
When a ransom demand was made it was clumsy and badly worded and not a very large sum. Various professionals stepped in to try to be intermediaries with the kidnappers often causing more harm than good. Of all of Geary's books this one seems to be a little less interesting. The research isn't faulty but this book doesn't add much to the exiting facts. Still wonderfully illustrated though.
