This is book two in the Submissive Trilogy, but I didn't find the book confusing at all. The story focuses around Nathaniel West and a new Submissive he is beginning a trial relationship named Abigail.  With the success of the Fifty Shades books it is inevitable that comparisons will arise in books with similar themes. I will say that the situations in this novel in regards to Nathaniel's character are very similar to fifty  shades but there are also a lot of differences.

 

Unfortunately I didn't connect with these characters like I have in other novels. The characters were very one note and I really didn't understand or care for their motivations. The sex scenes are very well done but I felt that everything between them were just uninteresting filler. As an escapist read or even a beach read the book is quite sufficient but I wanted a little bit more substance to the characters.
