Welcome  to 12 Days! This is my third year  running this event! Books and Christmas always go hand and hand with me. I love making wishists, doing blogger book swaps and even gifting books to friends. In the next 12 days I will be showcasing a variety of books that work well as gifts, for family readalongs or are great freebies for your E-reader . Today’s posts center around children's books. Their is also a Gift Card giveaway for a $10.00 or a book of choice up to $10.00 from book depository which makes the giveaway International! Now to the books:

I named my event 12 Days, after the Christmas Carol so when I saw this book I knew I needed to review it!. Jane Cabrera is a very gifted artist and this version of the story really showcases her art. Her renditions of the various numbers are different from the original song and includes drumming dogs, cute cats, sleeping bears and sledding foxes! There is even sheet music in the back so those musically inclined can play the song at home.

Everyone should experience a holiday in New York at least once. The city is a wonderland during the holidays! Their are gorgeous decorations, snow and the wonderful lights of times square. This book really captures the feel of the city , though surprisingly the story isn't set during the wintertime! Instead we follow a group of students and their chaperone as the visit the Statue of liberty, take a horse drawn carriage ride, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and many other landmarks. The art has gorgeous palettes that really catch the vibe of the city. A really great read.

What do you think of these books? Are there any other great advent books that you've read?
