Batman Animated: Lego Batman The Movie

celebrat the cowl v2

I watched this for the second time recently and loved it just as much as the first time! Stop motion animation, a great script and a strong vocal cast bring fan favorite  DC Comics  characters to life. The story opens with Batman & Superman walking into a Lexcorp building and falling prey to one of Lex Luthor’s traps. We then flashback two days and see the origins of the big confrontation.
After Bruce Wayne wins Man of the Year award from Lex he decides to break a party crasher who disrupted the event   (The Joker of Course!) out of Arkham.
Foolish Lex thinks he can control The Joker and use his Joker formula to influence voters  in his quest to win the presidency. Foolish Lex! Though the two of them have some laughs and ravage the city in a large Joker shaped Lego robot, the villainous pair begin to turn on each other. Batman finally asks for a little help from his friends who show up in force to support him.
I loved all the little cameo’s from DC’s pantheon of Villains and Heroes: Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Bane, Robin, Cyborg , Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash and more. The voice cast is excellent and I also loved seeing Batman dealing with his irritation towards Superman, whose good natured attempts to help annoy Batman throughout the movie.
This version also has a cool Clark Kent Lego mini and some great behind the scenes videos. Did you know that the plural of Lego is Lego ? There is also a small tutorial on how the Lego movies are filmed. A really enjoyable film and great collectible.
