It’s amazing the wonderful community of female  writers and artists  Gail Simone has brought to Sonja, since she started the series at Dynamite Comics:  Nancy Collins, Devin Grayson, Mercedes Lackey, Carla Speed McNeil and many many more. In this first collection of stories we see various warriors on the chase for Sonja. while having an evening campfire they tell stories of their experiences with her.

Every aspect of Sonja is explored through the lens of another's perceptions.  Love , Betrayal, lust and Greed are forces that flow in and out of Sonja’s life and all these stories explore what makes her such a fan favorite. We even get a look into the origin of the famous metal bikini! One of the things I’ve loved about this run is the various artists who have the ability to showcase Sonja’s sexuality without the exaggerated poses inherent to female characters in comics.

Sonja meant so much to me as a young teen in love with sword and fantasy epics. It’s wonderful to see her in such great creative hands.
