Review: One Grain of Rice by Demi
This is a a gorgeously illustrated book that contains a moral lesson and a lesson on mathematics.A young village girl helps a greedy ruler and as a reward asks for a single grain of rice doubled over a certain period of time which leads to the ruler owing her millions of grains of rice. It was wonderful to see a story with a racially diverse female lead in such a positive light.I will definitely be reading more of Demi in the future.
