ZOMBIE WEEK DAY 3 NIght of the Living Dead/Survival of The Dead
Hello everyone is DAY 3 of ZOMBIE WEEK!! It's also my Birthday so I'm just going to do a quick post and giveaway:
I wanted to a sort of ALPHA/ OMEGA type of review about two George Romero films. I think most Zombie fans might trace a great bit of their zombie love to the original Night Of The Living Dead. The Remastered Anniversary edition doesn't disappoint! Since I've seen the movie Numerous times I watched it this time with the commentary track. I was doubly impressed hearing the cast and crew talk about their experience making the movie. You get a sense that all facets of the movie were a wonderful collaborative effort. It is a great treat to hear these stories from the actors and George himself The action and horror scenes of the film are still thrilling after all these years, and the remastering looks great.
I'm Sorry to say friends that I "took one for the team" when it came to Survival of the Dead :( I don't know the full extent of George's involvement in this film but i was underwhelmed. This movie follows a group of AWOL soldiers (as seen in Diary Of The Dead) and shows a series of events that lead them to a place called Plum Island in Delaware. Now I haven't been to Delaware but I think i can safely say the locals probably don't like uneducated, twangy southern stereotype's! This movie is rife with very badly done acting and writing. Even the zombie make up and CGI is very badly done. I was disappointed,. Thankfully I had the classic Night of The Living Dead anniversary pack to ease my disappointment.
Now For The Contest!! Just a small one today since I 'm giving away an AWESOME Dexter prize pack today (see above) :
