This is my first time participating in BBAW. I'm excited to connect with the blogging community this week

FIRST TREASURE

Today's post is to spotlight my first Book Blogger I discovered, or who had an impact on me mostly this year. I'm a fairly new Blogger (8 months). I discovered two very special bloggers on twitter about the same time so I'm going to cheat a little and focus on both of them :)

Kristi is one of my favorite bloggers. She is the reason I read more YA genre books than I ever have in the past! I love her creative review style and her passion for books. She often reaches out to fellow bloggers and I was inspired by her to start my own blog. I like connecting with other bloggers through her weekly memo In My Mailbox. Kristi also has a wonderful series called Behind the Scenes Blogging . Through these series of interviews with editors and publishing houses I've gained valuable  information to improve my blog and  my relationship with publishers. I also like Kristi's willingness to share her experiences of personal growth. She made a concentrated effort to read books featuring main characters of color and she also focused on YA books with Lesbian, Gay, Transsexual and Bisexual main characters. She also runs some of the best contests on the web!! I look forward to winning one one day.

Book Chick City is a British book blog run by Carolyn. I love everything about Carolyn's Blog! The colors and her layout. Book Chick City also hosts the very first challenge I participated in: The Speculative Fiction Challenge. I enjoy posting my reviews each month, it really helps me get through my TBR pile. I've also won the challenge one month and got four great books :) Like Kristi is my "go to" girl for YA Carolyn is my "go to" girl for Horror recommendations, especially Zombie books!
