 This is a wonderful introduction to The world Kady Cross has created. Here we get a glimpse of Finley James life with the wonderful Steampunk and literary references that I loved in The Girl with the Steel Corset.

 After losing a post Finley is home briefly worrying about her future and the changes she is experiencing. Relief comes in the form of a job to be companion  to Phoebe a recently engaged debutante to Lord Vincent. Finley's instincts are telling her something is wrong and she uses her considerable physical and mental skills to figure out the danger that surrounds Phoebe.
