REVIEW: JUDY MOODY #1 by Megan McDonald

 

This is a wonderful middle grade reed that I devoured in a few hours. Judy Moody was in a mood.The mood was not her first day of third grade. Everything will be different. New teacher new seats and new work projects. Judy still has her best friend Rocky and her Me Collage her first big third grade project.

She and Rocky are now on a mission to gather documentation about their lives . Judy is a wonderful character full of mischief and strong opinions. Her younger brother Stink also plays a lot  in her adventures along with the persistent Frank a fellow classmate who is determined to be Judy's friend.

I really enjoyed the illustrations by Peter H. Reynolds. He really captures the energy and Judy as well as giving us a visual insight into Judy's world. this is a great book for young tweens and also a great book for family readalongs.
