REVIEW: THe SCORCH TRIALS by James Dashner

I was eagerly awaiting this sequel to the Maze Runner. Part dystopia, part Science Fiction this story finds Thomas and the gladers once again under the machinations of WICKED. This time they have to reach a specified target in two weeks in order to receive a cure to the Flare a disease that turns victims into diseased and crazed individuals.

We learn a lot more about Wicked and Thomas's world.. It's revealed that the world is on the brink of destruction and the Maze has been a test to determine the fittest group to move forward in the plan. Their is an abundance of new characters in this book . Thomas continues to shine in this novel though he goes through many tribulations. I really enjoyed meeting group B and their members. Teresa also goes through some dramatic changes and makes decisions that may sever thee growing relationship between Tom in her self.

I do think the book lagged a little and I found some outcomes a little predictable. However for sheer creativity and seat of you pants action scenes this is still a 4 star read. I'm really looking forward to the third book. The Death Cure.

Ahhh I can't wait for the final book. The Scorch Trials to me felt more like a much-needed bridge or filler to the story. I didn't mind. I just can't wait to read what happens next!
