BBAW:DAY1: COMMUNITY
I'm so happy to be a part of Book Blooger Appreciaton week ! This is my second year!
Today's topic is Community:
"Today you are encouraged to highlight a couple of bloggers that have made book blogging a unique experience for you. They can be your mentors, a blogger that encouraged you to try a different kind of book, opened your eyes to a new issue, made you laugh when you needed it, or left the first comment you ever got on your blog. Stay positive and give back to the people who make the community work for you!"
First off, I'm extremely grateful for Twitter! It was on twitter that I was able to connect with other book lovers and discover the book blogging world,
Here are a few of the many bloggers who have inspired, supported and introduced me to a multitude of genres and authors:
LARISSA
Larissa is one of the most prolific readers and active bloggers I know. Her passion and enthusiasm for books and her willingness to support fellow bloggers is one of her many talents. Larissa is also special to me because she was my very first follower. I can't describe how much that meant to me at a time when I barely knew what I was doing or if anyone was even reading my posts!
Kristi is personally responsible for the huge amount of YA books that I read. So suck it to those who don't think bloggers influence sales!!! She is also one of the bloggers I looked to in order to develop my own blog as well as for book blogger etiquette.
Though my reading style is more eclectic, it is nice to know I can turn to her site for all things YA.
Book Chick CityI may not have mentioned this before but I have a passion for all things English! Though I've yet to go there, the wonderful English bloggers I connect with make me very happy.
Carolyn is also dear to me because she is a fellow Horror fan! Any horror or zombie book on Carolyn's wish list is an automatic add onto mine :)
She is also the first blogger to ask me for a guest post! I was so honored and terrified! Mostly honored though:) Carolyn's events also inspire me to create my own. I enjoy her Halloween and Christmas events so much that I have created my own
MY FRIEND AMY
I have never met Amy but I feel I know her so well. She is the sweetheart of the blogging world. She greets new bloggers with a warmth and caring that is inspiring. When I first started following Amy I noticed she read a lot of inspirational or Christian based fiction. I was also happy to discover she is also a fan of Zombie books like Feed by Mira Grant. I never had explored any faith based fiction, seeing the multitude of authors and types of books Amy was reading spurred me to give a few books from the genre a try
Not only is she a wonderful blogger who specializes in speculative fiction reviews, she is also an amazing designer. My blog really took off after my professional makeover from Rachel. With just a few vague description she turned my blog into a stunning representation of my personal style. There isn't a week that goes by that I don't get complimented:)
Rachel also runs the very popular Follow Friday and Book Blogging 101.
This is just a small percentage of the wonderful men and women that influence my blogging life. I will be giving tons of thank you tweets out this week.
Thank you everyone!
