REVIEW:SHIMMER by Alyson Noel

Once again we step into the world of Riley Bloom :) After the events of her last adventure Riley and her guide Bodhi are on a vacation in the Virgin Islands.

Barely enjoying herself on the beach she is confronted by a scary Hellhound and meets a very angry spirit: Rebecca.

Though not an official job and against Bodhi's advice Riley follows the hound and soon finds her guide and her dog trapped in Rebecca's pain filled world.
Alyson again succeeds brilliantly in this middle grade read. With an exploration of themes of anger, forgiveness and finding the strength to move thru pain towards peace.

I also enjoyed Prince Kanta a spirit tied to Rebecca through the events of a slave riot in 1733.
