Review: The Rise of Ransom City by Felix Gilman
PUBLISHER:
Looking back can be a tricky thing. Time and experience can change our perceptions and even our truths. For Harry Ransom his past is of great importance since his experience lead him to perfect a process that changed his world, by creating and alternative to two warring factions The Gun and The Line.
The pages of Harry's journal are annotated in bits from those in the future so the reader gets some insight to where Harry's views of history are different from historical fact . Harry's narrative voice was very interesting but I found some of the story a little slow. The characters of Liv and Jon add a welcome distraction and show different elementsof Harry's personality. A solid companion to the Half- Made World and highly readable .
