Wondercon 2013: Teen Titans Go Sneak Peek
Is there anything that can fill the void the cancellation of Young Justice left fans with ? Teen Titans Go! Comes pretty darn close. In Saturdays sneak peek panel they got right to it, showing us the first two episodes from the show!
With a kinetic opening montage very similar to the previous series we then see Raven trying to enjoy her favorite animated pony show (so funny) , when Cyborg , Robin and Beast Boy interrupt her with their sloppy eating and discourses on the best sandwiches in the world. To get rid of them Raven tells them the story of a mythical sandwich so powerful the components of it were spread across the galaxy. Of course the team is up for the quest and Raven gets her peace and a DVR full of cartoons.
In the second episode we see Robin lamenting his lack of superpowers. After an attempt to cross his DNA with a real
robin ends disastrously Raven saves the day (sort of) by casting a spell on robin given him a variety of powers. Robin then promptly uses his powers to cure all the worlds problems, thus doing away with the necessity of the Teen Titans and dooming Robin to life as a middle management executive in an office.
This show has a great balance. I expected it to be heavy on comedy and more geared towards kids, but there are some great in jokes and themes that adults and DC Nation fans will really enjoy.
Raven really shines in this show and producer Michael Jelenic promises Raven fans will be very very happy as the season unfolds.
Starfire is her normal bubbly sweet sf and Cyborg's personality is as big and charming as he is. Beast Boy has seemed to mature a bit and has a smooth sort of charm. Robin is another scene stealer .
