Sunday Share 8: Reading , Gaming and Book Championing !

 

 

 

 

 

Happy Sunday Everyone! I’m in a bit of a reading coma! Is it possible to read to many books? I’m not sure but I’ve read a lot this week for:

 

 

 

I’m on my 12th and final book that I hope to finish before midnight tonight.

 

Gaming

Yesterday I met with my edge of Empire gaming group again: 

 

We played for five hours! Time goes so fast when your playing. I really got into the game this second time around. We really had some fun adventures and there is a real potential to be creative with your characters choices and dialogue. I really love the group dynamics as well. I get really nervous sometimes when I try new things. The group has been really great integrating me into the RPG game and helping me learn the ropes. I’m working up my courage for the next step in my gaming life: to visit and play at a gaming convention. I’ll be doing some more write ups about my gaming experiences for Fangirl summer next week. Sigh summer is coming to an end. I do have wonderful weather here in Los Angeles so I plan to have an extended summer plan in play.

 

Championing Books

 

Tor Books  has consistently sent me wonderful review opportunities. I’ve gotten a lot of great books from them in the past couple of months that Ive just started to read. One of them is this book:

 

 

Firebrand was released a few months ago from Tor and I haven't seen a lot of press about it. So I have decided to Champion this book! What does that mean? I’m going to talk about it, review it, share it with friends and generally do everything in my power to get people to try it! The series was originally published in England and they already have book two! There are many things I love about this book I will be gushing about them later in my review, but fundamentally what stands out is the fabulous writing and a lead character that is instantly relatable to. Throw in one of the most interesting take on The Fey that I’ve read in years and a look at England's witch hysteria and you have an absorbing read! Give it a try!

238  That puts me 60 books ahead of my goodreads challenge. Ive really been attacking my under 200 pages reads since I can read at least one of those a day :)
