12 Days:Review: Plants vs. Zombies: Lawnmageddon by Tobin & Chan
I received a complimentary download of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.
PUBLISHER:DarkHorse
I’m such a lover of the Plant vs Zombies game. I’ve spent weeks on Plants vs. Zombies 2 and I was really excited to see this book on netgalley. i wondered how the creators of the book would capture the feel of the game, I have to say they succeeded really well ! The story is told through the eyes of Nate and Patrice, two young kids in the midst of a zombie invasion. All the plants and zombies from the game are wonderfully illustrated and showcased as the two race through the town trying to find help with Patrice’s Uncle Dave.
Despite the presence of zombies the book isn't too scary but it is actio0n packed. I laughed at so many of the situations between the two kids trying to figure out how to use the plants and fight the evil zombie controller. Lots of fun for adults and children alike.

Reading posts like this always sends me down a bit of a rabbit hole revisiting different takes on the game and how it’s evolved over time. I ended up browsing around and decided to read more about some of the newer variations people are playing these days. It’s interesting to see how the core idea still inspires fresh versions years later.
