I know Vamps and Zombies are worlds apart but what I love about one of these books is true for the other:

Strong Male Leads

When I started reading YA books again I was happy to see how many female leads there were in the books, but I also like the change of narrative with a male protagonist.

Great Supporting Casts

Both Vlad and Benny have amazing support people in their life and strong women

Action and Horror

Don’t let the humor in Vlad’s books trick you this series goes into some deep themes. Also don't let Benny’s dark environment let you think no light or love exists.

Coming of Age

Both of these characters grow up due to time and their experiences. I love that both of these series have a solid ending and a coming full circle feel to them.

I love both series sooooo much!!!

Favorite Genre Challenge by Doing Dewey

I'm a huge fan of comic books and graphic novels and I’ve loved adding that element to my blog in the last couple of years . Here are some recommendations to get you to try this genre:

In love with The Lunar Chronicles or fairy tale themed reads? This series about exiled fairy tale characters is for you! This is the one book I suggest for people who don’t “get” comics.

Do you like Dark literary stories with themes from Shakespeare, Magic and Horror? Are you a fan of Neil Gaiman? These are the stories that laid the foundation of his career and won him thousands of fans.

Are you a fan of indie style YA like One More Day or Eleanor & Park? This gorgeous black and white volume gloriously portrays first love, finding your path in life and even Spirituality. It’s also a true story .

Is Horror your thing? This is the series for you!! Amazing series that just published its last issues.

Are you a fan of the Marvel movies franchise? Check out these graphic novels that are the source material for the next big superhero films .
