Titan is one of those Manga/Anime series that I heard a great buzz about. So when I saw the first issue on sale for $2.99 on Amazon I snapped it up. Titan is a futuristic Manga that combines action with an exploration of mankind's tenacity to survive. 2000 years in the future and the remains of humanity lives between three large walls. The walls protect the humans from the Titans, huge humanoid creatures that want mankind for one purpose: Food.
This volume opens with a huge Titan attacking and breaking through the wall. The city’s protectors swarm to help but the battle takes a heavy toll.
Through two of the main leads of the story ,Eren and Mikasa we learn about society behind the wall and the responsibilities of citizens behind the walls. For Eren his quest has always been the Survey Corps because they offer the opportunity to leave the world of the walls.
The action in this Manga is super intense! After the scene is set we flash forward to Eren and Mikasa’s graduation day and their Survey Corps training.
Eren is surprised to find he has inspired others to join him on the team but their very first Titan attack causes many to die and become frozen in fear.
I really don’t want to give too much away but I was really surprised with the cliffhanger at the end of this volume. I immediately went and watched the entire 24 episodes of the show on Hulu+ and have become a total Titan fangirl!
Looking forward to reading more of the manga and for season 2 of the Anime.
