Review: Star Trek Volume 1
Picking up where the 2009 movie left off. At the start of the book we find the barely repaired Enterprise on a diplomatic mission to bring aide to another planet. Of course the crew comes across an unusual signal that Kirk decides to investigate. The crew find the remains of a Starfleet ship and encounter an unusual energy that gives one of the crew telekinetic powers. This is definite fan service as it relates to a classic trek episode. I really loved the interplay between the characters. The writer really captures the personalities of each character and there is great dialogue and humor.
The second story Arc centers around a lost shuttle crew and how they find their way back to the Enterprise. The art is wonderful and there is a lot of racial diversity in the supporting cast. A great read for fans old and
A solid enjoyable read.
