I love how the impetus for this story came from the author being asked to tell a story with a black princess. This fable centers around a gorgeous Caribbean island noted for its legend of the Nutmeg Princess whose hair is like diamonds. Two children are determined to see the princess and succeed when other adults fail. This book is gorgeously illustrated. The digital download manages to convey some of the artistic splendor of this volume. Its a fast read but a treasure for any fairy tale collection.
