Sci-Fi Month: Bring Your Fandom Home With Funko
Hello! Today for Sci-Fi Month I want to talk about Science Fiction and Collecting. My earliest exposure to Science Fiction was through television. Re-runs of Star Trek and Lost In Space. Also like most of Sci- Fi kids of the 70’s I was glued to the TV for Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica. Though I loved these shows I never really had any tangible items attached to my passion. Then a little film called Star Wars opened.
George Lucas had the brilliant idea to hold onto merchandising rights for the movie. He partnered with Kenner toys and soon young boys and girls across the galaxy were waving lightsabers and reenacting their favorite scenes form the movies.
I still have a closet full of carded figures like these in my closet:
Carded figures are cool but they really don’t stand well and have limited articulation. Still I will never part with mine! Over the past few years however I’ve found a perfect collectible that is easy to open and display and also are really affordable:
