Review: Zen Ghosts by Jon J Muth

The approach of fall and Halloween always put me in the mood to read books that suit the season. Zen ghosts is a retelling of an ancient Japanese story.
Stillwater the panda comes to the homes of his young friends on Halloween. He promises them a friend will them a wonderful ghost story if he meets them after trick or treating. 
Once the children join Stillwater he takes them to a home of another panda who could be Stillwater's twin.  At the home they hear the story of Senjo a young maiden who runs away with her childhood love to avoid an arranged marriage.
This story has an interesting twist ending and is beautifully illustrated.  A wonderful read for the season.
