Review: Poe Dameron Issue One by Soule & Noto

So you know those lovely Beauxbaton ladies who enter Hogwarts during the Tri Wizard Tournament?

That's how I felt when I heard about the Poe Dameron comic and now holding it in my hands I feel like this:

In the opening pages of issue one we see Poe doing what he does best,engaged in some damn fine flying! In some flashbacks we see Poe getting his mission from General Organa : Find Lor San Tekka. Poe puts together a team dubbed Black Squadron and they follow through on their first clue that leads them to a community embedded in some deep caves.

The community is protecting a strange egg and gives little info to Poe except that Lor has moved on from the group. The issue ends on a bit of a cliffhanger as Poe discovers his ship has a tracker on it and the first order is waiting for Poe and is team above.

I really loved this first issue. Charles has captured the feel of Poe's personality from the Force awakens and we get some insight to the Black Squadrons actions before the start of Episode VII.  

Noto's art is stunning. He captures the likeness of Poe, B-b 8 and the other Black Squadron members beautifully!

I'm really looking forward to the next issue in this series
